Best hairstyle for your face shape

Choosing how to get your hairstyle can seem overwhelming but it can be simplified by choosing a style that suits your face shape. You might have the prettiest hairstyle in mind but it could fall flat if it doesn’t flatter your face shape.

Rectangle

If you have a rectangular face shape choose a haircut that softens your sharp angles. Soft layers can enhance your cheekbones whilst adding curves around the corners of your face. Longer hairstyles may further elongate your appearance but if you style your hair with curls or a voluminous blow dry you will add shape horizontally softening your sharp angles. If you’re wanting to rock a fringe, aim for soft rounded styles or curtain bangs instead of blunt or square options.

Oval

Lucky you! Oval faces suit a wide variety of hairstyles thanks to your balanced proportions. If you’re looking to make an impact, opt for a bob or long blunt cut. Layers can drag your face down but this can be avoided by styling with curls or waves.

Heart

For heart face shapes it’s important to choose a style that balances your features. A long side swept fringe will decrease your broad brow line and draw the eye towards the chin. For a bolder look, a side parted pixie cut or bob is super flattering for heart shapes.

Diamond

Due to sharp angles of the Diamond face shape, it’s best to choose a hairstyle that balances your cheekbones and softens the jawline and forehead. A medium or long layered cut with a deep side part is a soft and flattering option especially when paired with tousled waves. To accentuate your angles try a chin length bob.

Round

Generally Round face shapes have a similar length and width so a hairstyle that adds shape and definition is essential. Choppy pixie cuts are a great option or the more subdued long layered cuts starting from the jawline. A short side fringe can provide the illusion of a longer face whereas bobs and short layers can exaggerate your Round face.
